Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers are chasing Norwich City striker Gary Hooper, according to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
Huddersfield are interested in taking the 27-year-old on loan but face strong competition from Bolton for the striker, who is out-of-favour at Carrow Road.
Trotters boss Neil Lennon signed the striker when he was in charge of Glasgow giants Celtic and is keen to work with him again in the Championship.
Under Lennon, Hooper scored 63 times in 93 games for the Hoops.
He featured 34 times for Norwich last season, scoring 12 goals, as the Canaries won promotion to the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough in the play-off final last month.
But the striker has had to play second fiddle to Cameron Jerome, who has been preferred in attack in Alex Neil’s 4-2-3-1 setup.
BetVictor has cut the odds to 2/1 on Town or Bolton signing Hooper, who looks to be surplus to requirements at Norwich as Neil looks to build a side that can compete in the top-flight.
Hooper was on the books at Tottenham Hotspur as a youngster but began his career in non-league with Grays Athletic. He went on to have spells with Southend United, Leyton Orient, Hereford United, Scunthorpe United and Celtic.
