18-year-old Matty Daly's first goal for Huddersfield Town earned the Terriers a 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic at the Valley last night.

In just his fifth appearance for the Yorkshire club, the teenager swept in a 92nd-minute winner in front of the away fans to claim the three points.

Charlton may feel hard done by as they saw their go-ahead goal controversially ruled out for offside in the 86th minute.

The Terriers were in the ascendancy for large periods of the game but seemed to run out of steam just after the hour mark, with the hosts creating more in the closing exchanges–other than the goal, of course.

Both sides came into the game with injury-hit squads and on the back of poor recent records but the late-winner will likely have left the Terriers squad feeling upbeat ahead of their trip to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the Huddersfield players' social media activity following the game, with many of the players paying homage to one man's performance...

The teenager and Huddersfield academy graduate produced a measured and confident performance from the bench and provided the match-winning moment for the Terriers.

You'd imagine he must've been absolutely buzzing following the game, while Cowley will likely have felt his faith in the youngster has been repaid.

The Terriers shot-stopper was called into action on multiple occasions last night and certainly earned his clean sheet.

He more than anyone will have been pleased with the defensive stability Cowley's side showed and the control they had for large periods of the game.

Josh Koroma

Koroma made just his second Championship start against the Addicks and was very impressive–looking Huddersfield's brightest attacking spark for much of the contest.

The 21-year-old will likely feel he has done enough to justify another opportunity against Wigan on the weekend.

Danny Simpson

The experienced defender replaced Koroma in the 73rd minute, in what was his first appearance for Huddersfield since the 9th of November following an injury.

He will be hoping he has proved he is fit enough to regain his place in the starting XI against the Latics.

Trevoh Chalobah

The Chelsea loanee will likely have been very relieved to see his side pick up the three points. Chalobah was sent off against Swansea City and the Terriers have lost the previous two games with him out suspended.

The 20-year-old midfielder will be back in contention for Saturday's game and seems likely to return to the starting line up.

Tommy Elphick

Elphick has been missing since November due to injury and though he is still recovering, it seems he was excited about yesterday's performance–particularly praising the impact of the young players.
