Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has hailed his side's victory over Norwich City yesterday as a "big step" towards finishing in the top six, according to a report by the Huddersfield Examiner.

A period of seven minutes in the second half won the game for Huddersfield Town in the end.

Norwich stood firm for much of the game but goals from Elias Kachunga, Aaron Mooy and Nahki Wells - all between the 66th and 73rd minute - earned Huddersfield Town an impressive 3-0 win over the Canaries.

This was seen as a "banana skin" game for the Terriers but their impressive victory has cemented their place in the top six, although a late automatic promotion push is looking unlikely now.

With a game in hand, Huddersfield now have a ten point cushion within the play-off zone going into the final few games of the season.

David Wagner praised yesterday's victory and said:

"There is a long way to go but this is a big step towards a play-off position.

“And that would be an unbelievable achievement for this club.

"We are still the small dog Huddersfield Town - we know where we have come from and we know how hard it is to win in the Championship."
