Huddersfield Town are in advanced talks with Forest Green winger, Reece Brown according to Football Insider.

The report claims that the Terriers have moved ahead of Leeds United in the race to sign the 23-year-old, as they prepare for life back in the Championship.

It is also thought that Huddersfield are in talks with Forest Green over potential compensation for Brown to secure his services, before he becomes a free agent at the end of June.

It's clear to see why Brown is a player in significant demand heading into the summer, as he netted 11 goals and was on hand to provide 15 assists for Forest Green as they narrowly missed out on promotion to League One.

Brown is a versatile player to have in any squad, as he can operate on the wing, or as a striker which make him a valuable asset.

He will feel as though he has a point to prove in the Championship as well, having previously represented Birmingham City, where he made 20 appearances for the Blues across a four-year-spell with the club.

Brown has certainly proved his worth last season though, and it seems as though it's only a matter of time before he leaves the League Two club in favour of bigger and better things in the Championship.

The Verdict:

This is a smart bit of business by Huddersfield.

Brown would be a gamble as he doesn't have a considerable amount of experience at Championship level, but I believe that he's got what it takes to play a crucial role in their promotion bid next season.

He's a player with a bright future ahead of him, and this could be the best move for Brown to showcase his talent on a bigger stage.
