Despite a strong season last year in which they got to the Championship play-off final, having lost the game, Huddersfield Town now find themselves preparing for life in the second tier again.

As a result, two key players in the side Harry Toffolo and Lewis O'Brien have received a fair bit of interest over summer so far.

Despite the club's efforts, Toffolo is yet to agree a new deal with the club meaning as it stands he's about to go into his final year of his deal and it's been reported that Nottingham Forest have made a bid for his services.

Furthermore, O'Brien has been linked with a move to the top flight after the Terriers rejected a series of bids from Leeds United last season and also having been linked with Nottingham Forest this summer.

Despite the uncertainty over their futures, head of football operations at the club Leigh Bromby says that both players are happy at the club as he told Yorkshire Live: "Both players are contracted and in training at the minute. Those two players had fantastic seasons. For me, it shows what the players have done and how they've developed that there's interest."

However, he has also admitted that this gives the club no guarantees as he said: "Now, if we can keep those players fantastic, [but] there's a reality to the situation: if there's Premier League interest, I'm sure the players have ambitions to play there. We have to understand and respect that.

"But both players at happy at Huddersfield Town. They love the experiences they're having here. They've been a big part in what we do. For us to have interest shows we're doing something right."

The Verdict:

You can understand why both players have attracted interest from the top flight given they had strong seasons for the Terriers last season.

Furthermore, you couldn't blame either player for wanting to make a move if it was one that gave them a step up and likewise, Town probably wouldn't want to let either go on a free so should the right offer come in they would have to consider taking it.

Whilst both players are currently happy at Huddersfield, it seems as though either player could still be set for an exit before the start of the new season.
