Scunthorpe United man Jacob Bedeau is attracting the interest of a host of Championship clubs, including Huddersfield Town and Barnsley.  

Bedeau has previously played for Aston Villa’s youth sides, but failed to make the grade as a senior player at Villa Park.

That’s led him to Scunthorpe, where he has impressed, making 22 appearances.

His performances have caught the eye of those in the Championship too, with The Athletic noting how Huddersfield and Barnsley are both considering a January swoop to sign the 20-year-old.

They are not alone with their interest either, with Rotherham United and Luton Town said to be considering a move in January if the opportunity to sign the centre-back emerges.

Bedeau is entering the final months of his deal with Scunthorpe and is yet to agree terms on a new contract to keep him with the Irons.

The ex-Villa defender scored in Scunthorpe’s 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic in League Two earlier this month and has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Scunthorpe sit 22nd in the League Two table.

Bedeau came from a good background at Aston Villa, but never made the grade at Villa Park.

Naturally, he’s stepped down into the lower echelons of the EFL and is doing well with Scunthorpe.

He’s been noticed now and his contract situation makes him attractive to a select number of Championship clubs.
