‘How’ve we managed to keep him?’, ‘Masterclass’ – Watford individual has many fans in awe after Blackburn showing

Watford continued their impressive start to the Championship season by comfortably beating Blackburn Rovers 3-1 at Vicarage Road on Wednesday.

The three points means that the Hornets have now won all three of their home matches this term – with only goal-difference keeping them below second-placed Bristol City.

Vladimir Ivic’s made a lightning start on Wednesday evening and found themselves with breathing space inside 17 minutes thanks to goals from Joao Pedro and Tom Cleverley.

Ben Brereton reduced the arrears for Rovers just before the half-hour mark, before Darragh Lenihan’s own-goal early in the second-half made the points safe for Watford.

However, the Hornets needed the ever-reliable Ben Foster to ensure they avoided a nervy final quarter as the 37-year-old made a host of impressive stops, culminating in an outstanding save from Adam Armstrong’s 69th-minute penalty.

Foster was the subject of interest from both Chelsea and Everton during the transfer window, but remained at Vicarage Road, much to the delight of the Watford fans, who were thrilled with his performance against Blackburn last night.
