Plenty of Leeds United fans have responded to a post from a Derby County supporter on social media.

Derby confirmed today that manager Frank Lampard has left the club to become the new head coach at Chelsea, after guiding the Rams to the Championship play-off final in his first season as a manager last term.

After the news was announced, plenty of Derby fans took to social media to thank Lampard for what he achieved at the club last season and to wish him all the best for his future at Chelsea.

One supporter uploaded a photo of Lampard celebrating on the pitch at Elland Road, after Derby beat Leeds in the second leg of their epic play-off semi-final last season.

Leeds won the first leg of the semi-final at Pride Park and were on course for a play-off final showdown with Aston Villa at Wembley, before Derby produced an extraordinary comeback to win 4-3 on aggregate and completely stun the Elland Road crowd.

Even though they would eventually miss out on promotion, losing to Villa in the final at Wembley, the semi-final comeback against Leeds is sure to live long in the memory of Derby supporters.

However, plenty of Leeds fans reacted to the post on social media and were quick to remind Derby fans that their side missed out on promotion and lost to Leeds on three other occasions last season.
