Adam Nagy has been sat on the sidelines for most of this season since arriving in Bristol this summer, but the midfielder now faces a fight on his hands after a good start to his personal season.

Life in Bristol started well for Nagy, the midfielder performing well during his first few outings until injury struck and has curtailed the 24 year-old midfielder's season. However, in Nagy's absence, has emerged 18-year-old Frenchman Han-Noah Massengo with some fine defensive performances at the base of the City midfield.

Massengo has endeared himself to the Bristol City supporters and has become one of their favourite players of the current season, while Nagy watches on from the sidelines and witnesses the young midfielder put in some energetic midfielders in the City engine room.

Nagy is a similar player to Massengo, breaking up the play while also creeping forwards up the pitch to join attacks, however, Massengo is now in undroppable form and looks to be a player who can help to spearhead the Bristol City charge for the Playoffs.

Nagy, who has 33 caps for Hungary, is on the way back to full fitness after injury but will need to put in some admirable performances during training or during the limited game-time that he sees when returning to the side if he is to make his way back into the starting 11.

Despite having six years' more football experience than Massengo, Nagy has been outshone as one of the better summer signings that Bristol City have brought through the door at Ashton Gate, Massengo and Nagy both being of equal quality to former defensive midfield lynchpin Marlon Pack, if not better than the current Cardiff City man.

Nagy will be feeling that he now has to do all he can to get back on the training pitch, outshine Massengo with some bustling performances whenever he can in games and develop technically as well as mentally as a player. Nagy and Massengo could both work in a midfield partnership together if one of Josh Brownhill or Kasey Palmer was sacrificed, however, that would make City seem too defensive. Whatever happens going forward though for Nagy, a lot of hard work is bound to come his way to get back his Bristol City place.
