Leicester City have had a fine first season under Brendan Rodgers.

They currently sit in 3rd-place of the Premier League table having taken 53 points from the 29 games of the season so far. It looks set to be their best finish since their title-winning 2015/16 season, and fans are hopeful of a long and successful reign for the ex-Liverpool boss.

Next season then is destined to be an even bigger one for Leicester. Depending on how the season finishes they could be preparing for Champions League football next year, and they'd need some new recruits.

Here we take a look at how Leicester's starting XI could look ahead of the 2020/21 season should the transfer rumours come true:

Leicester have been linked with a £22 million move for Trabzonspor keeper Ugurcan Cakir. Rodgers is understood to be in the market for a goalkeeper this summer with Schmeichel turning 33-years-old, and starting to come under the spotlight a bit.

Pereira has been one of Leicester's best players since signing back in 2018. The ex-Porto man featured 35 times in the Premier League last season and has played in all but one this time round - expect him to be one of the first names on next season's team-sheet.

Another name who'll no doubt be in Rodger's mind next season is Soyuncu. The Turk has been a revelation at centre-back for Leicester this season and he himself could attract some outward attention when the transfer window reopens.

Potentially joining Soyuncu at centre-back could be Brighton's Ben White. The 22-year-old has spent this season on-loan at Leeds United and has been a big player in their bid for promotion. It's made him the talk of a summer transfer with several clubs interested, but Leicester could pip them all to his signature.

Slotting in at left-back could well be Taylor. The Burnley man has had an on-off season having struggled with injury, but he remains a player who Rodgers likes the look of - his dynamism on the left would compliment Leicester's play under Rodgers, and this option might be more financial feasible for the Foxes too.

The Frenchman has been playing in Ligue 1 with Nice for the past four seasons. He was once a prominent member of the French youth sides and though his career seemed to take a short blip, he's this season looked to be back at his best, and Leicester have been touted with a summer move for him should Wilfred Ndidi depart.

Another name who's been the talk of a transfer all season is Maddison. The 23-year-old is one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League and it's seemed as though he'll eventually move on to Manchester United. But that rumour has since quietened down, and should Leicester be in Europe next season then he could easily stay.

Rodgers has been rumoured to be in for Lallana. The pair worked together at Liverpool and under Rodgers, Lallana was at his best. He's fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool but has had a mini-revival this season, and it's landed him in the rumour mill going into the summer.

The 23-year-old made his stay from AS Monaco permanent last summer, and has once again shown his quality. Under Rodgers he's improved his game even further and alongside Maddison in midfield, make for one of the league's best, young midfield duo.

The Sporting CP winger has turned a lot of heads this season, having broken into his club's first-team and the Ecuador national team too. Leicester are in need of some options on the wing and Plata has been linked with the club, but he could come at a costly price form the Portuguese club.

With 62 goals in three seasons for Celtic, Edouard is proving to be one of the most prolific names in European and British football. He's bound to leave Celtic in the summer after another barnstorming season, with 28 goals in all competitions, and Leicester will eventually need to look for a Vardy replacement with striking options low as they are. The Foxes have reportedly tabled a £30 million bid for the 22.-year-old.
