Queens Park Rangers’ goalkeeper Seny Dieng joined League One Doncaster Rovers for a season-long loan in the summer, but how’s the Swiss stopper fairing in South Yorkshire?

Many QPR fans know who Seny Dieng is, but few have seen him play before. He moved to England from Switzerland in 2016 and landed at QPR, the club who he still plays for but is yet to make an appearance.

Doncaster Rovers is his fifth loan club since joining QPR, having spells in the non-league and the Scottish league.

He spent part of last season on loan at League Two Stevenage along with fellow QPR teammate Ilias Chair, before linking up with Darren Moore's Doncaster at the start of the season.

So far, he’s been contesting the number one spot at the Keepmoat with Irishman Ian Lawlor, who’s made seven appearances in League One this season compared to Dieng’s four.

Despite contesting his spot though, the 24-year-old Dieng has been a reliable stopper in the appearances he’s made, keeping one clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Peterborough last month.

His loan at the Keepmoat expires shortly after the New Year, and he’ll likely be sent out on another loan deal for the remainder of the season.

Mark Warburton though has also been changing his goalkeepers at QPR, swapping between Joe Lumley and Liam Kelly.

With Dieng returning to the fold in January, it gives Warburton an added option in his keeper conundrum and it could see Dieng make his first-team debut for the club since signing in 2016.
