Paudie O'Connor made the move from Bradford City to Lincoln City this summer, after the Irishman's contract expired with the Bantams in League Two.

The 25-year-old managed 129 appearances in three and a half seasons at Valley Parade and has joined an Imps side going through a period of transition.

Mark Kennedy has taken the reins from Michael Appleton this summer at Sincil Bank and it has been a difficult start to the third tier campaign for the Imps.

O'Connor has played every minute of league, Carabao Cup and Papa John's Trophy action at the heart of defence, therefore from a personal perspective it has been a solid start.

One win, four draws and two losses from their opening seven third tier encounters has Lincoln sat 20th and outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

It is hard to draw conclusions about a team who has drawn over half of their games at this early stage in the campaign, but they do appear to be having problems in the final third.

Anthony Scully's late window departure to Wigan Athletic of the Championship will not have helped that cause and it will be interesting to see how they fare with a challenging eight fixtures in a row on the horizon.

O'Connor has been playing in a back four so far, alongside Regan Poole at centre back, his central defensive partner is in his second full season with the Imps and came through the academy setup at Manchester United.

Lincoln are slap bang in the middle in League One, in terms of how direct their style of play is, as per Opta, with Kennedy's methods yet to stand out in his second job in senior management and playing under a number of different managers in his time at Bradford may have helped O'Connor adapt quickly.

Some kind of relegation battle looks more likely than not at this stage, and in that there is a chance that Bradford are playing in a higher division than O'Connor next season.
