Morgan Gibbs-White is one of the brightest players to come through Wolves' academy in a long time but their rise under Nuno Espirito Santo meant he found game time hard to come by.

As a result, Wanderers were happy to let the creative midfielder go out on loan, hoping he could flourish in the second tier and then kick on, as the likes of Jack Grealish and James Maddison have done over the years.

And, a move to Swansea seemed ideal. Firstly, he was guaranteed minutes as the Welsh side had seen Conor Gallagher return to Chelsea, whilst Gibbs-White was also linking up with his former boss Steve Cooper.

The 20-year-old starred for the Swans chief when he was in charge of England's World Cup winning U17 side, where he actually scored in the final.

So, Cooper knows how to get the best out of the youngster and the early signs were positive for Gibbs-White in Wales. He netted on his debut, the only goal in a win at Preston, won man of the match as Swansea defeated Wycombe and provided an assist in the 2-1 success over Millwall. In total, the team picked up ten points from the four games he played.

However, there has been bad news for Gibbs-White and Swansea as he suffered a stress fracture in his foot during the win over the Lions and was ruled out for three months.

Since then, he has missed three league games and Cooper's men haven't won, picking up just two points, which highlights how the on-loan Wolves man had quickly made himself an integral part of the XI.

Gibbs-White is expected to return to action in the New Year and whilst that may seem a way off for Swansea, having him back will be a welcome boost as the early signs suggested that this loan spell would go exactly how they, the player and Wolves wanted.
