Josh Coburn earned a move to Bristol Rovers on loan from Middlesbrough towards the end of the summer window but it is only this weekend that we might see him make his debut for the Gas.

The youngster has been recovering from a knee injury in recent times, and stayed up with Boro to see through that rehab period before linking up with his temporary side.

Indeed, that means manager Joey Barton hasn't really been able to see him in action up close thus far this year, but that could be about to change in the near future.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's action, manager Barton suggested that Coburn could be involved with the squad, telling Bristol Live last week:

"I think he’s due to come down next week. There were rumours he was going to join with us. He is finishing the end stage of his rehabilitation with their team and then we’ll get our hands on him, so that’s another bit of good news, albeit we haven’t seen him."

A bit of a stop-start campaign for Coburn this year so far but it looks as though he is closing in on being involved with Rovers,

They'll hope he can have a positive impact, too, with Rovers currently 21st in the league table.
