Millwall was Byron Webster’s home between 2014 and 2019.

Having played for York City, Harrogate Town, Banik Most, Doncaster Rovers, Northampton Town and Yeovil Town, Webster arrived at Millwall on the back of a couple of years with the latter.

Webster had made 98 appearances for Yeovil but took the move to Millwall in 2014 and went on to make 137 appearances for the Lions during that time - the most at any individual club during the defender’s career.

It wasn’t an easy start to life as a Millwall player and, after only 14 appearances at the start of 2014/15, he was back at Yeovil on loan to see out the season.

Fortunes changed the following season for Webster at Millwall, who were back in League One. He made 50 appearances across all competitions in 2015/16, although he didn’t feature in the play-off final defeat to Barnsley at the end of the season.

Webster and Millwall got a shot at redemption 12 months later, as the centre-back played 90 minutes in the League One play-off final win over Bradford City. However, stepping back up into the Championship, opportunities were harder to come by and Webster eventually moved on to Scunthorpe United in 2019.

There was a spell with Carlisle United that followed that across 2019/20, before Webster made the move to Bromley in 2020.

He made 28 appearances in 20/21, helping Bromley reach the play-offs. He scored three goals, including one against Hartlepool in a failed play-off campaign. That tally was bettered the following season, as Webster struck five times in 43 appearances across all competitions.

Now 35-years-old, Webster is into his third season with Bromley and has made seven appearances. On the Saturday gone by, he helped his side to a clean sheet and a 3-0 win over Maidstone.

With 78 appearances and counting, Webster is well on his way to matching his previous longevity at Millwall. 16 points from nine fixtures leaves Bromley in the play-off picture this season and, who knows, it might be that Webster is eventually repeating his previous promotion success in a Millwall shirt.
