Leo Ostigard is still a very exciting prospect at 22 and is currently on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in Serie A with Genoa.

The Norwegian has not taken the plaudits this season as much as he did with the Sky Blues in 2020/21 and is nearing a crossroads in his career with his contract at Brighton expiring in the summer.

Ostigard spent the first half of this season on loan at Stoke City and put in some impressive performances in a back three under Michael O'Neill.

However, the 22-year-old lost his place at a pivotal time leading to being recalled by the Seagulls and re-deployed in Genoa.

Ostigard has been in and out of the side since arriving in Italy but will be hoping to play a key role in the Griffin's bid to survive in the top-flight.

With ten games remaining Genoa are seven points from safety and look set for a relegation that has been coming for a number of years now.

They have kept a clean sheet in Ostigard's last three appearances but agonisingly in 0-0 draws, which are not worth a lot in their worrying predicament, currently second from bottom.

Mark Robins could be eyeing a permanent swoop for Ostigard in the summer, the commanding defender will not command as high of a transfer fee than he would have in previous due to his contract situation and may welcome a return to the club where he displayed the most consistent performances in his senior career to date.
