Former Ipswich Town winger Cameron Stewart's career has completely stalled during the last few years, with the 28-year-old currently a free agent following several short spells at a number of clubs in the Football League.

Stewart's time at Portman Road arguably sums up the way his career has developed over the last few seasons, with the winger arriving at Ipswich on a three-year deal from Hull City in the summer of 2014, following loan spells with both Charlton Athletic and Leeds United during the 2013/14 season.

However, Stewart suffered a broken jaw just before the start of the 2014/15 season, which saw the attacker miss the first six-weeks of the season and by the time he had returned, Mick McCarthy's side had already got off to a strong start as they looked to mount a play-off push.

That meant that Stewart was forced to wait for his chance and he eventually made his Ipswich debut in an FA Cup third round tie against Southampton, coming on as a second half sub in a 1-1 draw, but with the 28-year-old still struggling to get any game time in the league he was loaned out to Barnsley, where he made just four appearances in the second half of the campaign.

Ipswich elected to loan Stewart out to Doncaster Rovers for the 2015/16 season, and the winger managed to score four goals for the Yorkshire club in 26 league appearances, but he could not help Rovers retain their League One status with the club finishing 21st in the table and being relegated to League Two.

Stewart returned to Ipswich but did not make a single appearance throughout the 2016/17 season and he was eventually released from Portman Road during the summer of 2017.

The 28-year-old signed for Lincoln City in October 2017, after having had trials with both Charlton and Port Vale during the summer, but the winger was once again a fringe player making just four appearances for the Imps, as the club secured a seventh-place finish.

Having failed to really impress during his time at Sincil Bank, Stewart was released by the club in the summer of 2018, and he was unable to find a new club during the whole of last season and that still remains the case at the start of this term, meaning the winger's career is in danger of being completely over at the age of just 28.
