Over the course of the summer transfer window, Nottingham Forest bid farewell to a host of first-team players, with Arvin Appiah leaving the City Ground for a sizable fee.

The likes of Apostolos Vellios, Daryl Murphy, Jason Cummings and Hillal Soudani all departed the club, with Appiah being the standout name to leave the City Ground.

The youngster established himself as one of the brightest prospects in the EFL during his time on Trentside, but completed a reported £8m move to UD Almeria.

Appiah came through the ranks at the Nigel Doughty Academy, impressing in the Reds' youth set-up as well as on the international stage for England's under-17 and under-18 sides.

He was given his Forest debut by Aitor Karanka last season, and scored in a 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Burton Albion. He went on to make a further six appearances in the league in the 2018/19 campaign.

But despite making an appearance under Sabri Lamouchi against Fleetwood, Appiah then moved to Almeria despite being linked with Manchester United, via The Sun.

Since his £8m move to Spain, Appiah has failed to set the world alight. The 18-year-old's performances have been there, but he is yet to find the back of the net thus far.

Appiah has made just the one league start for Almeria, making a further four appearances from off the bench.

Almeria, though, have made a superb start to the season, and sit 3rd in the Spanish Segunda table after 15 games, as they look to climb into the top-flight next term.

He is a player with serious potential, and he needs to keep his head down and keep working hard.
