Despite playing 30 games for Ipswich Town so far in his career, the Tractor Boys decided that after their heavy investment over the summer that Armando Dobra would be best served spending some time out on loan this year and have shipped him out to Colchester United.

The League Two side are currently battling near the wrong end of the fourth tier table and will need all the help they can get in ensuring they don’t get dragged in to a potential relegation battle.

Dobra though has so far been unable to nail down a regular starting berth with the team. He’s only managed one start with the side so far this year and that came in a 2-0 defeat to Salford, where he was unable to make too much of a mark from just behind the striker and was hauled off in the second half.

However, the 20-year old has looked bright at times for the Tractor Boys before he was sent out on a short-term basis and if he can refind that kind of performance and form for the U’s then he could be a key player for them this season.

In that one start for Dobra this season, it was mixed fortunes for the player.

He had the most tackles of anyone on the field with three and put in a shift to win the ball back but then he also lost possession more times than anyone else too.

There’s still plenty of the season to go for the player though and if he can use one of his cameos to prove he warrants a regular place in the side, then he could get a lot more action. For the time being though, he’s going to have to prove he deserves a spot in the side by making an impact from the substitutes bench.
