Swansea City had a very busy summer as they prepared for another season in the Championship following play-off heartbreak in May.

As you would expect, there was a high turnover of players in the window, with Andre Ayew one of the most high-profile departures.

The versatile forward stuck with the Swans following their relegation to the second tier, admittedly on huge money, and he went on to hit 16 and 17 goals over the next two seasons in the Championship.

With his deal expiring in the summer, he was never going to be given a new contract by Swansea, so the Ghana international was free to leave, and he ended up joining Al-Sadd.

The Qatari side, who are champions in their country, are managed by Barcelona legend Xavi, and they have enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, winning four from four and scoring 16 goals in the process.

And, Ayew has contributed, netting three times in that period, and he is a key member of the team that will expect to win the league again and compete for the Champions League on their continent.

At 31-years-old, Ayew should still have a lot to offer, so it won't come as a shock to anyone that he has settled in very quickly in his new league. However, some may question whether the forward should've gone to a more competitive division and made the move to Qatar in a few years time.

But, the decision has been made, and Ayew is already starring for his new club, although that probably isn't a surprise considering how well he did for the Swans.
