When West Bromwich Albion signed Anders Lindegaard from Manchester United in 2015, they would have been hoping that the goalkeeper could help them reach new heights in the Premier League.

However, this unfortunately didn't occur as the Denmark international was forced to watch on from the sidelines due to the presence of Boaz Myhill and Ben Foster.

After being limited to just one appearance for the Baggies during the first-half of the 2015/16 campaign, Lindegaard was loaned out to Preston North End where he enjoyed a relative amount of success at Deepdale.

Having featured on 14 occasions in the Championship, the shot-stopper was signed permanently by the Lilywhites in 2016.

In the following season, Lindegaard initially started the year as the club's first-choice keeper as he made eight consecutive appearances in the second-tier.

Yet following a dismal performance in Preston's 5-0 defeat to Brentford, the former United man was dropped to the substitutes bench by then-boss Simon Grayson.

Unable to displace Chris Maxwell from the Lilywhites' starting eleven, Lindegaard opted to join Burnley in 2017 where his struggles continued.

During his two-year spell at the club, the keeper only managed to make two appearances in all competitions before joining Swedish side Helsingborgs earlier this year.

Since making the switch to Di Roe, Lindegaard has experienced a relatively positive start to life in Scandinavia.

Already a mainstay in Helsingborgs' side, the shot-stopper made 15 appearances in the Allsvenskan in the 2019 season.

As well as producing promising displays against the likes of Ostersunds and Kalmar FF, Lindegaard also helped his side secure positive results in their recent clashes with AFC Ekilstuna and GIF Sundsvall.

Providing that he can continue to perform to a high standard for Helsingborgs over the coming years, he may be able to force his way back into Denmark's international set-up having last featured for his country in 2011.
