Things have not worked out for Nouha Dicko at Hull City so far.

When he joined from Wolves in 2017, the Tigers will likely have been hoping they could help him rediscover the impressive form he showed early on at Molineux.

The winger was instrumental in helping the Midlands club climb out of League One after joining from Wigan in January 2017.

He bagged 14 goals and three assists from 20 appearances in the second half of the 2013/14 season, which saw Wolves win League One at a canter.

He carried that impressive form into the 2014/15 Championship season, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists for his side, but has struggled to reach that level since–with seven his highest goal tally for a season.

Dicko was a regular fixture in the Hull side during his first season, featuring 29 times, but fell out of favour under Nigel Adkins last season, with the majority of his appearances coming from the substitutes bench.

The 27-year-old indicated that he was enjoying life under new manager Grant McCann early on but made for the exit door after just four appearances in the 2019/20 campaign, sealing a move to reunite with former Tigers boss Leon Slutsky at Dutch side Vitesse.

His current deal at the KCOM Stadium is set to expire next summer but the club do have the option of a 12-month extension, so it seems there is a chance we could see him in a Hull shirt again.

For the time being, however, he has hit the ground running in the Eredivisie and there are early indications that he may have rediscovered the hot form that saw him make a name for himself at Wolves.

The 27-year-old has been utilised as a striker in a forward two by Slutsky, which has worked to great effect.

Dicko began as a substitute and has forced his way into the Vitesse starting line up, becoming a mainstay over the past month and helping his side climb to fourth in the league.

The forward has looked sharp in front as goal as well, scoring three times for the Dutch side and adding two assists.

It is early days yet but Dicko looks to have rediscovered his mojo at Vitesse.
