After taking all three points against Huddersfield Town on the Championship's opening night, Burnley were set for their first game of the season at Turf Moor.

Back in front of their fans in a competitive match for the first time since they were relegated to the Championship, the Clarets welcomed Luton Town to Lancashire.

Having dispatched of one of last season's play-off finishing teams the previous week, Vincent Kompany's side could only earn themselves a draw this time around, with Nathan Jones' side once again proving tough opposition.

19,628 spectators saw Josh Brownhill's stunning effort earn the Clarets a 1-1 draw on the day, but how did Burnley's attendance compare to others in the division?

Below, we've taken a look, with statistics used from Fan Banter.

How does it compare?

With Coventry City's home match against Rotherham United postponed due to the condition of the pitch at the CBS Arena, only eleven Championship matches took place this weekend.

The attendance, just shy of 20,000, fell somewhere in the middle of the crowds drawn to the Championship's fixtures last weekend, slightly ahead of Birmingham City's crowd at St Andrews for their 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town (17,065) and behind West Brom's capacity at The Hawthorns as they drew with Watford on Monday night (22,365).

The lowest crowd of the weekend came at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in Reading, with a crowd of just 13,866 watching as the Royals defeated Cardiff City 2-1.

It was to be Norwich City and Carrow Road that drew the biggest attendance of the weekend, though, with 25,595 spectators watching on as the Latics frustrated the Canaries and earned a good point on the road.

Burnley travel to face Watford on Friday night, and next welcome Hull City to Turf Moor on Tuesday.

It will certainly be interesting to see what sort of crowd the Clarets can attract in midweek.
