‘How convenient’ – Many Leeds United fans tear in as rival club make noise about season’s end

Luton Town Chief Executive Gary Sweet has been discussing the possibility of shutting down the season if assurances can’t be made over their concerns, which has been greeted badly by Leeds United supporters.

Leeds are fighting a very different battle to Luton in the Championship, with the Whites top of the table and on the verge of a Premier League return. For the Hatters, they sit 23rd, facing an uphill battle to retain their status in the second-tier.

Discussing the season’s end on The Price of Football Podcast, Sweet spoke how it would be ethically right to end the season now, insisting that Luton would not want to play on if they pulled resources away from the NHS.

Yet, should their concerns be addressed, Sweet sees no reason why the ‘show’ shouldn’t go on in the Championship, even if things are cancelled in the lower leagues.

For Leeds’ fans, however, they’ve been quick to jump down Sweet’s neck, criticising his stance given Luton’s position in the Championship table and likely relegation.

Here, we take a look at their reaction to his comments…
