Blackpool will be hoping to back up their recent victory over Huddersfield Town by producing another positive performance in their showdown with Middlesbrough this weekend.

Theo Corbeanu's strike in the first-half of the club's meeting with the Terriers sealed all three points for Michael Appleton's side.

Having won three league games this season, it will be interesting to see whether Blackpool will be able to push forward as a club under the guidance of Appleton in the coming months.

Ahead of Saturday's clash with Boro, we have decided to take a look at how Blackpool's average home attendance compares to the rest of the Championship...

As per data gathered from Transfermarkt, the Seasiders are currently 22nd in the standings when it comes to attendances.

Averaging an attendance figure of 11,634, Blackpool are just below Wigan Athletic who are averaging 11,926 supporters at their games.

Rotherham United (10,338) and Luton Town (9,857) are the two teams who have had less fans on average attend their games.

In terms of the highest attendance figures registered in the Championship so far this season, Sunderland lead the way with an average of 37,926.

Compared to the overall capacity at the Stadium of Light (48,707), Sunderland have only filled 77.86% of their stadium.

In contrast, Luton have filled 96.39% of Kenilworth Road whilst Norwich City, who are sixth in terms of average attendance (25,726), have filled 94.42% of Carrow Road.

Blackpool's supporters meanwhile have occupied 71.72% of the seats available at their stadium.

If the Seasiders are able to embark on a good run of form in the Championship, home attendances are likely to rise as the season progresses.

Currently 11th in the second-tier standings, Blackpool have already shown some signs of promise at this level and will now be aiming to improve their consistency.

Appleton's side will unquestionably need to work on their home form as they have only accumulated four points from their first four games at Bloomfield Road.

Only four other Championship sides (Preston North End, Wigan, Luton and Coventry City) possess a worse home record than Blackpool.
