It may be hard to believe, but we're already more than halfway through the January transfer window, meaning time is already starting to run out for clubs to make those all-important signings.

One club who have yet to make any additions this month are Blackburn Rovers, although that hasn't stopped several players being linked with a move to Ewood Park in the next week or so.

Indeed, with Rovers currently five points adrift of the play-off places and facing a number of injury problems, Tony Mowbray's side will surely have to add to their ranks between now and the end of the month in order to give themselves the best possible chance of securing a top-six spot come May.

Here, we take a look at just how Blackburn could lineup beyond the end of this month, if the latest transfer rumours surrounding the club materialise.

Having employed a 4-2-3-1 formation for much of the season so far, that is the system we have chosen to use here.

While Rovers have been linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Cameron Dawson this month, the level of interest from elsewhere, as well as the 24-year-old's apparent desire to remain at Hillsborough, suggests it could be difficult for Blackburn to complete that deal, meaning Brighton loanee Christian Walton could retain his spot as the club's number one for the rest of the season.

In defence, one potential signing reportedly on the radar for Blackburn is Gillingham's Connor Ogilvie.

The former Tottenham youngster's versatility would potentially see him to slot in at left-back were he to make the move to Ewood Park, allowing Darragh Lenihan and on-loan Manchester City man Tosin Adarabioyo to continue as the club's first-choice central defensive pairing, while Ryan Nyambe should continue at right-back following some impressive performances there recently.

In holding midfield, the number of options Blackburn have mean that the serious, long-term injury suffered by Corry Evans earlier this month is unlikely to force them into the market for additions in that position, with the experience and ability of Bradley Johnson making him the obvious choice to step in alongside Lewis Travis when fit.

Having lost talismanic top scorer Bradley Dack to a season-ending injury of his own just before Christmas, Blackburn do now seem to be in the market for some fresh attacking options, with Rangers' Jordan Jones and Portsmouth's Ronan Curtis both thought to be attracting attention from Ewood Park.

Were those two wide-men to make the move to Ewood Park, that would likely allow Adam Armstrong - Rovers' second-highest scorer this season after Dack - to move into a more central role in Rovers' attack, something which may suit the former Newcastle man's desire to play in a centre forward position going forward in his career.

That switch could potentially see Armstrong lineup as a second striker behind Danny Graham, in the hope of recreating the prolific partnership the veteran forward had previously enjoyed with Dack himself in each of the last two seasons, a link-up from which Rovers enjoyed great success.
