Marcelo Bielsa has been dealt a blow to his side's promotion chances with the news that key defender, Pontus Jansson, is set to be ruled out of their clash against Bristol City this weekend.

Jansson was ruled out of action over the international break but Bielsa would have hoped to have had the Swedish international available for selection against the Robins.

The news of Jansson's absence this weekend was confirmed by the Leeds boss in a recent press conference.

The centre-back adds to the growing injury list at Elland Road, with Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi already ruled out of action through injury.

Aapo Halme and Conor Shaughnessy will be pushing for a start in the Leeds side but they will struggle to fill the huge void left by the Swedish international in the heart of the Leeds defence.

But how big of a blow is the news of Jansson's absence this weekend?

We discuss....

George Harbey:

It's a big blow for Leeds.

Jansson has been such a reliable, solid figure for Leeds this season, and it's a selection headache that Bielsa can really do without.

How are they so unlucky with injuries? It's ridiculous!

Alfie Burns:

This is a blow and for Leeds' sake, you hope it's only short-term.

Jansson has been excellent this season, finding his best for under Bielsa.

He will be missed against the Robins, but Bielsa will have faith in his other options.

Chris Gallagher:

It's a real setback for Leeds.

Jansson is not only the best defender at the club, but he is also a real leader for Bielsa's side.

He has been in good form on the whole this season and is a big loss for the Whites.
