According to a report by The Daily Mail, there are a number of Championship clubs plotting a move to land Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff on the cheap.
Sean Longstaff’s contract with Newcastle United is set to expire in the summer and he is yet to agree fresh terms with the Tyneside outfit.
The 19-year-old is currently out on loan at Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock and he has been impressing north of the border.
The attacking midfielder has two goals in nine appearances for Killie, including a 90th minute winning goal on his league debut against Ross County.
He moved to Kilmarnock alongside fellow Newcastle team mates Freddie Woodman and Cal Roberts in January.
Longstaff, who is the nephew of former Newcastle man Alan Thompson, is yet to commit to a new deal and his contract situation has alerted a number of Championship suitors, who are monitoring the youngster and they could try to snap him up for free.
