A number of Championship clubs are keeping tabs on in-form Colchester United midfielder George Moncur after his terrific start to the season, according to HITC.
The 22-year old has started the season well for The U’s and the form of the West Ham academy graduate is said to be attracting interest from a number of clubs in the second tier of English football.
In 14 appearances for Tony Humes’ men this season, Moncur has scored five times, just one short of his tally of six in total last season.
Humes and the Colchester fans will now be hoping that interest in their star man this season fails to materialise, as they are undoubtedly a better side with him in the midfield.
He started his career at the Hammers and he had loan spells with AFC Wimbledon, Partick Thistle and then Colchester before joining the latter on a permanent deal last summer.
It is uncertain which Championship clubs are eyeing a move for the in-form 22-year-old midfielder, but it is certainly no surprise to see interest mount in the Colchester United man, who is excelling for the League One outfit.
Moncurs’s side currently sit in 16th place in Sky Bet League One, having accumulated 16 points from 13 league games so far this season.
