According to the Sun, a number of Championship sides including Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton and Hove Albion and Derby County are chasing VFL Bochum striker, Simon Terodde.

The striker has impressed in Germany's second division scoring 17 goals this season. It would be difficult for the Championship sides to prise the striker from Bochum with a £1.5 million price tag, however, it could potentially be a bargain if he could replicate his goalscoring form in England.

Comparisons are often drawn between German and English football and there is no doubt that the striker would fit the English game as he has the physicality and power to not only be a nuisance for defenders but thrive in the Championship.

It appears that at this early stage, Derby County are leading the way with the financial clout to buy the striker in the summer to bolster their attacking options even more.

All three sides are chasing promotion to the Premier League and they will hope that, should they fail to gain that, Terrode will come in and fire them there next season.
