Middlesbrough’s clash with Aston Villa on Tuesday evening was one of the more entertaining goalless draws we will see in the Sky Bet Championship this season.

The rivals played out an entertaining stalemate, which saw both reduced to 10 men and a number of good goalscoring opportunities squandered.

Adama Traore was dismissed after just four minutes for a reckless challenge on Conor Hourihane leaving Boro with 10 men for the majority of the clash, before Henri Lansbury was also sent off for a lunge just after the hour mark.

Middlesbrough have now confirmed that they have appealed Traore’s red card, with Garry Monk admitting that the Teessiders were looking for some justice following the decision.

Boro will learn later today if their appeal has been successful, with Monk desperate to have the 21-year-old available against Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
