Aston Villa have seen a real resurgence over the last two month with eight consecutive wins firing them up into the play-off places.

Last weekend saw them pass possibly their toughest test in that spell, seeing off fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City at Villa Park

But they came under fire on Monday night when the Telegraph reported that Middlesbrough boss Steve Gibson wants the EFL to investigate them club for suspected Financial Fair Play breaches.

The Boro boss has been riled by the fact that he and his club have sold star men in order to comply with the financial regulations whilst others appear to work their way around them by unfair means.

He has overseen over £40million worth of sales this season to get their finances in order and has accused Derby County, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday of sneaking around the regulations.

This is not the news that Villa fans will have wanted to hear and they are not too happy about Gibson's actions...
