Football League World’s Nottingham Forest fan pundit Grant Brindley has claimed he is excited about the attacking partnership Lewis Grabban and Joao Carvalho could form for the Reds.

Grabban has hit the ground running this season, scoring four times in his first seven games, while Carvalho showed flashes of brilliance in his first start of the season on Saturday.

Is this the WORST Nottingham Forest XI from the last 10 years? Let us know what YOU think....

The Portuguese attacking midfielder was excellent for much of the 2018/19 campaign, scoring four times and providing eight assists, but picked up an injury in pre-season that has meant he has missed a large part of the start of the season.

However, Brindley indicated that with Carvalho now back he is excited about the prospect of the 22-year-old’s partnership with Grabban.

He explained: “Carvalho is now back fit and there was a spell last season where he created many chances for Grabban, which the striker often took.

“I am hoping they can start clicking again. I am really looking forward to seeing them both starting games and linking up. Hopefully, they can both stay fit.”

Grabban has scored 21 goals since joining the club last summer but Brindley suggested that he is worried about the support for the 31-year-old in the squad.

He said: “Our depth in strikers is a major concern. Should anything happen to Grabban, we only have Rafa Mir as our other option, so losing him for any length of time would be a massive, massive loss.”

Forest climbed up to 10th by handing Swansea City their first defeat of the season last weekend.

They face newly-promoted Barnsley on Saturday knowing that a win could see them move into the top six.
