There is no doubting that Mark Warburton has taken on a big task with Queens Park Rangers after they came close to relegation last season.

Steve McClaren was sacked after an awful losing run at the start of 2019 and is leading a squad overhaul after Chris Eustace steered them to safety.

And their seventh signing of the summer was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon when centre-back Conor Masterson signed on a two-year deal after his contract with Liverpool expired.

The 20-year-old signed for the Reds as a 16-year-old back in 2013 for just under £1million and progressed through the ranks to the club's reserve side but never managed to break into the first-team.

He joins Dominic Ball, Luke Amos, Yoann Barbet, Matt Smith, Lee Wallace and Liam Kelly through the door at Loftus Road as they look to climb the table.
