Sheffield United sent two players out on loan today.

Winger Nathan Thomas was sent out on loan to League Two outfit Notts County while Ben Heneghan joins Blackpool on a season-long loan deal.

Centre-back Heneghan only played one match last season - against Preston North End in the cup - after his move from Motherwell.

The 24-year-old had previously played for non-league side Chester and he is brought in by League One side Blackpool, who have lost centre-half Clark Robertson to Rotherham United this summer.

Thomas played three times, scoring twice, after his move from Hartlepool last summer and he spent time on loan with League One play-off finalists Shrewsbury Town in the latter part of last season.

Both players signed three-year contracts last summer but were placed on the transfer list this summer.

However, they have been sent out on loan instead. Here is some reaction to the news that Thomas and Heneghan are leaving on loan.
