Derby County maintained their promotion charge under Frank Lampard as they dispatched Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough yesterday.

Two quickfire goals courtesy of Jack Marriott and Harry Wilson were enough to overcome an Adam Reach goal for the home side, who remain in deep trouble and without a win in six under Jos Luhukay.

One of the key moments in the game came at half time when Frank Lampard introduced experienced defender Curtis Davies into the fray to shore up the backline, and it paid dividends, as the Rams ground out the result in Sheffield.

Davies has long been a key man for Derby, and he took to Twitter following the game to share his thoughts on the game and performance in general.

The former Hull City man will feel he has a key role to play over the course of the rest of the season, and he will have been delighted to have gotten some minutes under his belt yesterday.
