Salford City have announced the capture of former Plymouth Argyle keeper Kyle Letheren following his release from Home Park, as reported by their official website.
The 31-year-old made 13 League One appearances last season, taking his total to 20 in two seasons since joining from National League side York City. He’s previously played for Blackpool, Kilmarnock and Dundee.
He made a handful of SPFL appearances for the Dee in 2014/15 but in his entire career, he has just 114 appearances to his name often finding himself playing second fiddle to a regular stopper.
He’s signed a one-year deal with the Ammies and told their official website of his delight.
“I’m delighted to be here first and foremost, it’s something that I’ve known about for quite some time now but I’m just delighted to get it over the line, I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait for the season to get started.
“It’s just the ambition of the place to be honest, obviously the club are on an upward spiral like everybody knows, and I think Salford’s on the lips of everybody at the minute.”
Supporters of both Salford and his previous clubs have flocked to Twitter to wish him well on his move to the EFL newcomers, although not when facing Plymouth in the case of one user!
Best of luck but hope we put 10 past you in the cup haha
