Nottingham Forest midfielder Marcus McGuane has left the club to join Oxford United on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old joined Forest's Under-23s' from Barcelona in February 2020, and trained with the first-team towards the back end of last season.

The midfielder was sent on loan to League One side Oxford United in the summer, making 20 appearances for the promotion-chasing U's in all competitions.

McGuane - who has registered four assists in League One this season - was ruled out for the season in January after injuring his thigh.

But Oxford have now confirmed that they have signed McGuane for an undisclosed fee, with the player penning a three-year deal.

McGuane leaves the City Ground having failed to make an appearance for the Reds' first-team, and he clearly isn't a part of the manager's plans going forward.
