‘Hope this isn’t true’, ‘Bizarre’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react to transfer links with 29-year-old

Nottingham Forest have reportedly made an approach regarding the availability of Brighton and Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy.

Duffy is currently out on loan at Celtic, but he has endured a disappointing time in Glasgow since moving to Neil Lennon’s side.

The 29-year-old has made 21 appearances for Celtic, and despite scoring three times, his form in defence has been sloppy.

According to the Scottish Sun, Forest have made an approach to Brighton regarding Duffy’s availability, as Chris Hughton weighs up a move for his former defender.

Duffy was a regular alongside Lewis Dunk during Hughton’s tenure of Brighton, and he is a player who the Forest boss knows well.;

Whether Forest need another defender or not, though, is another matter, with Hughton recently saying that he would like to strengthen his side’s attacking options this month.
