Hull City striker Abel Hernandez has been out of action since the early stages of the current campaign, having ruptured his Achilles in a gruesome blow that has left him sidelined for many months.

The Uruguayan international had been in good form for the Tigers in recent seasons, and with Nigel Adkins’ side struggling towards the foot of the table and back-to-back relegation's a sobering reality, Hernandez’s return cannot come soon enough.

The 27-year-old headed to Humberside in 2014 from Palermo, and will hope to return to form upon his comeback, with a World Cup fast approaching in the summer.

The player has informed the club that he intends to leave at the expiration if his contract at the end of June, leaving him free to talk to foreign clubs now over a potential summer switch.
