A number of Birmingham City supporters have been reacting to the performance of Odin Bailey during Forest Green Rovers’ pulsating play-off semi-final second leg defeat against Newport County.

Bailey, who has spent the season out on loan in League Two with Forest Green, did not start the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Newport on Sunday evening. However, he came off the bench and had a major impact on the game.

He produced a number of stylish touches and also provided a moment of class with an excellent delivery for Jamille Matt to take the game to extra time. That was a glimpse of the talent he possesses and what Birmingham could unlock from him in the coming years.

In the end, Bailey’s season ended in disappointment with Newport scoring a late goal in extra time to make it 4-3 to Forest Green on the night, but 5-4 on aggregate to the Welsh side. That means that the 21-year-old will be due to return to the Blues where he will hope to get the chance to impress Lee Bowyer next term.

Overall, during his time with Forest Green this term Bailey managed to make 36 appearances in the regular campaign scoring four goals and providing four assists.

Many Birmingham fans took to social media to commend Bailey for his performance off the bench and also urge Bowyer to hand him the chance to come into the side in the Championship next season.

Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
