Nottingham Forest face a battle to keep hold of player of the season Ben Osborn with Stoke City interested in the player.

The Nottingham Post has revealed that newly-appointed Potters boss Gary Rowett is hoping to sign the 23-year old and that he had previously shown an interest in Osborn whilst manager of Forest's fierce rivals Derby County.

That proposal was immediately refused by the Reds, but Rowett will be hoping for more luck now he isn't in charge of the East Midlands side.

Primarily a midfielder, Osborn played the majority of this season as a left-back and was a consistent performer under both Mark Warburton and Aitor Karanka, playing over 50 times this season, scoring three goals.

Despite that, some Forest fans are open to the idea of selling the academy graduate - providing they got a reasonable fee.

Here's how they reacted to the news about Stoke's interest in Osborn on twitter...
