Nottingham Forest face a battle to keep hold of player of the season Ben Osborn with Stoke City interested in the player.
The Nottingham Post has revealed that newly-appointed Potters boss Gary Rowett is hoping to sign the 23-year old and that he had previously shown an interest in Osborn whilst manager of Forest’s fierce rivals Derby County.

That proposal was immediately refused by the Reds, but Rowett will be hoping for more luck now he isn’t in charge of the East Midlands side.
Primarily a midfielder, Osborn played the majority of this season as a left-back and was a consistent performer under both Mark Warburton and Aitor Karanka, playing over 50 times this season, scoring three goals.
Despite that, some Forest fans are open to the idea of selling the academy graduate – providing they got a reasonable fee.
Here’s how they reacted to the news about Stoke’s interest in Osborn on twitter…
Hope he stays! Always rated him & knew he would attract interest from elsewhere. Players with his attitude, talent & versatility will always be in demand

Unfortunately every player has a price

Same argument, different year. How much are we talking, £10m?

I would personally be very disappointed if we lost Ben. I see his positives and rate him highly. He’s mr consistent but gets consistent flack from our own which is undeserved. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for and it would come back to bite us

Really hope Forest don't overvalue the lad. Decent championship player but he's about to turn 24, I'd snap their hands off for something like £8m. Can't see him starting each week next season and that sort money easily covers the £5m/£6.5m fees for Grabban or Marriott.

Definitely not irreplaceable. If we got £5 million then I'd be delighted

Get him sold..£5m bang average player .. reinvest n spend that on much needed striker

Good attitude, versatile and a solid 7/10 player every week. Would certainly consider a decent offer though, if we could reinvest the money to strengthen other areas

A decent offer (£8m – £10m) should be considered. He’s a good (steady) player but that could be reinvested in a couple of signings capable of making an impact. #NFFC
