Trevor Watkins, a lawyer for the American consortium trying to buy Nottingham Forest, has revealed that they still want to buy the club and they do not know why the deal collapsed, reports BBC Nottingham Sport.
On Friday, January 13 Nottingham Forest supporters were shocked when they heard the news that the proposed takeover by a US consortium led by John Jay Moores had collapsed, with many quick to turn on current owner Fawaz Al Hasawi.
Despite Al Hasawi pleasing fans with some excellent Deadline Day recruits, many fans are still curious and angry as to why the takeover collapsed on the eleventh hour of its completion.
The work of Fawaz Al Hasawi on Deadline Day and his recent promise of appointing key personnel in the forthcoming days has increased his hugely damaged reputation somewhat, but there is still a long way to go before he has most fans backing him once again.
Watkins, speaking on behalf of the potential US buyers told BBC Nottingham Sport that they ‘fell in love’ with the club and still remain interested in buying the East Midlands club.
Nottingham Forest fans… Is there still hope that this deal can be sorted? Or will Fawaz choose not to sell the club? Do you still want Fawaz out of the club? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
