Stoke City have endured a shocking start to the season, with Nathan Jones' side rooted to the bottom of the Championship with only a single point to show for their opening seven matches.

The whole Potters squad will be suffering including Spurs centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has struggled to make an impact having had limited game-time since arriving at the bet365 Stadium in the summer on a season-long loan.

So how can Carter-Vickers' time at Stoke be best summed up so far?

We discuss..........

Sam Rourke

"It's been a mixed start.

"Carter-Vickers has featured twice in the league and twice in the League Cup for the Potters so far, but has failed to really showcase his qualities to an impressive standard thus far.

"I get the feeling the frequent changing of the Stoke backline has not helped Carter-Vickers at Stoke, as arguably keeping the defence consistent is one of the most important positions to keep familiar.

"It is still early days in the season and you have to remember he is just 21, but you feel it's better to judge the player after 15/20 games.

"The player has struggled to really find the platform over the last few seasons to exhibit his ability on a consistent basis, so will be hoping Nathan Jones sticks with him in the upcoming league fixtures.

"Honestly, I can't see him being part of Spurs' future."

Chris Gallagher

"It hasn't worked out at all so far.

"In fairness to the player, Stoke are a club in crisis right now so it was never going to be easy and Nathan Jones does have a lot of options available at centre-back.

"However, Carter-Vickers hasn't convinced when he has been given a chance, with the side shipping five goals and losing the two games he has started.

"The Potters fans will want to see more for him but unfortunately the same applies to the rest of the team."

George Brooks

"Cameron Carter-Vickers wouldn't be at a top club like Tottenham unless he had the potential to be a good player, but he's struggled to make an impact at Stoke so far.

"Stoke have made a dismal start to the new season and a lot of the players have struggled to make an impact, but the fact that Carter-Vickers has only played two games in the Championship suggests that he isn't doing enough to impress Nathan Jones in training.

"When he has played though, he's been pretty solid at the back, despite Stoke's poor defensive record.

"Spurs sent Carter-Vickers out on loan to allow him experience regular football, so they'll be hoping that he gets more opportunities as the season progresses."
