QPR endured a mixed campaign this season that ended with the London side in 16th position but 15 points ahead of the relegation zone.

There were some obvious positives for Ian Holloway to take, with the emergence of several exciting young players a major plus for the club.

However, with that talented crop emerging, combined with some good senior players, fans may have expected a bit more from the team, in terms of performances as much as anything.

As our graphic shows, with the performance of the season, QPR were capable of beating anyone on their day and the win over leaders Wolves was one to remember.

They also recorded impressive wins over Aston Villa and Cardiff to further demonstrate how good the side could be on the day.

Yet, inconsistency is to be expected from young players which is why the role of the experienced professionals was vital - and they did well on the whole.

Here at FLW, we opted for Massimo Luongo as the Player of the Year, but it also could've gone to Luke Freeman, who claimed our Goal of the Season award for his effort against Sheffield United.

Those pair, along with Josh Scowen, our Signing of the Year, formed a very effective midfield trio for the R's and that has to offer fans hope for the future, with three talented players at the heart of their midfield.

Our FLW Young Player of the Year award went to Eberechi Eze, who made 16 Championship appearances and scored two goals towards the end of the season.

With reports now suggesting that Steve McClaren could be set to takeover at Loftus Road and replace Holloway, we took a look back at some of the charismatic 55-year-old's quotes from the season, selecting his best following a dramatic 2-2 draw with Brentford:

"I was disappointed with our fans and with their fans. I'd like to say to ours, 'you should've stayed', everybody who did stay, well done, you deserved that. Don't go home early."
