A poor start to the season saw QPR sitting 17th and this ultimately cost Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink his job.
His replacement was Ian Holloway: a fans’ favourite and former player and manager who returned to the club after 10 years away.
As of yet, Holloway hasn’t had the desired effect, and after his opening three games in charge, Rangers are in a worse position than when Hasselbaink left.
However, once Holloway has had a January window to bring his own players in and had enough time to impose his style of play on the team, they could be very successful.
Sitting eight points off the play-offs, a top six finish certainly isn’t out of sight for QPR just yet, but no doubt the main aim for the former Blackpool boss, will be to secure their Championship status before pushing for promotion.
There is no doubt that some of the players Holloway has at his disposal aren’t playing as well as they can at the minute.
