Queens Park Rangers travel to Ashton Gate this weekend to take on a Bristol City side who have been in the spotlight recently for their eye-catching run to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

The Robins' league form has suffered as a result of that run and Rangers will be hopeful that continues on Saturday and that they can take advantage of any tiredness from Lee Johnson's side.

QPR have also been suffering with the effects of a long season, with numerous absentees through injury, some more long-term than others.

Holloway issued an update on the injury situation at Loftus Road ahead of the trip to the promotion chasers on the club's official website.

He said: "[Grant Hall] has got a slight issue with the other knee so we just have to be cautious with him after so long out."

Jordan Cousins and James Perch have also been absent in recent weeks but Cousins returned to training this week while Perch's recovery is also progressing nicely.

The Verdict

With QPR's budget being lower than a lot of their Championship rivals, they can't dip into the market for reinforcements as readily so returning players from injuries can give the boost that new signings could offer.

Holloway will hope that the returning players can give his squad a welcome boost that can just see them get away from the danger zone.
