QPR have had a turbulent season so far, where they are now neither relegation threatened or pushing for promotion - the latter being much to the disappointment of Rangers fans.

A poor start to the season lead to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink being sacked, leaving QPR managerless and seemingly in the midst of a relegation battle.

His replacement was returning boss Ian Holloway, who has steadied the ship at Loftus Road a bit and pulled the R's up towards the safety of mid-table, although safety is not a certainty just yet.

Holloway strengthened his squad in January but those players don't seem to have settled in yet, with just two wins out of six following the closure of the window.

The former Blackpool boss has quite a big squad at his disposal and there are some of his fringe players who definitely have something to offer to the team.

Here, I will look at two QPR fringe players who Holloway should utilise...

Michael Petrasso

The Canadian international has been on the fringes of Holloway's squad since he took over as boss, but he should be getting more of chance than he has been doing.

Petrasso offers a huge threat out wide for Rangers.

His directness is something that defenders hate to play against and that is something that QPR could utilise to their advantage.

With Matt Smith now seemingly Holloway's number one striker, he needs crosses into the box to get the best out of him and Petrasso can certainly provide that.

Idrissa Sylla

Sylla had been a bit of a regular in the QPR side when Holloway first took over, but January signing Matt Smith has now displaced him in the starting 11.

The Guinean international is very good at holding play up and bringing others into play, whilst being a goal threat, which makes him the perfect striker to play alongside Washington in a front two.

Sylla should still be given a big role despite the arrival of Smith because he brings an awful lot to the team.
