Goals from Nick Bailey and Jermaine Easter cancelled out two free kicks from Stevenage midfielder Simon Walton in the pre-season friendly at the Lamex Stadium.

The 51-year-old played two starting XI’s after changing his side at half time and was pleased with the encouraging performance.

“Our spirit, particularly towards the end when we fought back, was great. I really enjoyed the game,” said Holloway, speaking to the club’s official website.

“It’s all plus points for me. Like against Dartford I’ve split the two teams up and had them play a half each and the structure and organisation from both was good.

“Stevenage scored two good free-kicks when we had a slightly younger side out there, but I thought all-in-all everybody did very well.

“It was a much better performance than the other day (against Dartford). We’re improving and next week we’ll be further forward in our preparations,” he concluded.
