Dean Holden has confirmed that Chris Brunt is a player that Bristol City are interested in this summer transfer window as they look to add more experience to their squad.

The Robins will be hoping to challenge for the play-offs again this season in the Sky Bet Championship after a tough period after lockdown that saw them fall away and Lee Johnson get the sack.

Things improved after that but not enough to get into the top six and that is the aim this season for new manager Holden.

Did these 12 ex-Bristol City players actually ever score for the club?

He's been looking at ways to add to the squad this window, then, and he has confirmed that Brunt could well be an addition they make, via Bristol City reporter Gregor MacGregor on Twitter:

The Verdict

There are some good players in the Robins' squad but having that extra level of experience, particularly when it comes to winning promotion, can make all the difference in your side.

If Ashley Williams does not return it makes sense to try and get Brunt in to maintain that element of things with Brunt boasting many years of playing both in the Premier League and in the Championship.

Nothing is agreed yet, though, so we'll have to see how this one develops.
